I have said before that he should go full franco with his name. De-nee Zhil-Bear. Make it french, make it exotic, and people will pay closer attention to you. It’s human nature. I was wrong though. Dennis Gilbert is the perfect name for him. It’s a lunchpale name. A name that sounds like it should have “Officer” in front of it. A name that would be perfectly comfortable erasing beers at a tailgate and then going through a picnic table. And not the folding table kind. I mean the park district wooden kind. He could punch through that with his fist if he wanted to. He’s a guy you want in your crew and a guy you LOVE having on your team because he will do whatever it takes. We saw that against Arizona

You can’t take liberties with Alex Debrincat. Not allowed. Not on his watch. And you know what…you can’t take liberties with anyone. If I got sucker punched walking around the streets of Chicago. I wouldn’t call the police, but I might tweet at Denneis Gilbert and show up ready to throw down. This is what he said when the media asked him about his decision to fight after the hit on Debrincat

He’s not an enforcer, he’s fucking Batman. The people’s hero. The Hawks haven’t had a guy like this in I don’t know how long. Feels like a while. The best part is that he can also play. He’s got a really good stick. He plays heavy. He’s young so there will be some mistakes along the way, but I trust him out there. In my humble blogger opinion he is one of the Hawks best 6 defensemen. Give me a group that includes Keith, de Haan, Murphy, Boqvist, Gilbert, and Seabrook. I will go to war with that group.
