Assassinations, conspiracies, and government agencies getting into all sorts of weird shit in the name of fighting the Soviets. One of those things was “Project Stargate”. Project Star Gate, as it was known, was the codename for a US government project intended to use psychic and supernatural phenomenon for spying and military uses. In one of the pages, it lays out why the government wants to use it – the benefits include the fact that it is “passive”, “inexpensive” and that there is “no known defense”.
The papers show how the organisation was looking to harness those powers to spy on people, to make changes to important objects and . All of that would be done by operatives far from the people and things that were actually being affected.
“Psychoenergetics”, for instance, describes a “mental process” where a person can perceive, communicate or change characteristics of something or someone that it separate from that person in space or time. It also describes things such as remote viewing, where people can see things in another place, and telekenisis, where someone can move an object that they’re not actually touching.
An active top secret CIA project about reading minds, “remote viewing”, and bending objects for the purpose of spying. And why was the CIA doing this? Well because the Soviets were doing it of course. The CIA learned that the KGB increased their budget on psychic activity from 60 million rubels to 300 million rubels in span of 5 years from 1970 to 1975 so we were like “oh fuck, they wouldn’t spend that much money unless it was working”. The CIA didn’t officially end Project Stargate until 1995. Crazy the lengths that the government would go to spy on people back in the day. Now they just watch you through your own phones. Much easier.
