Rangers Knock Off The League's Best, Finally Creep Into The Playoff Picture
I know there’s still plenty of hockey left. Maybe Hags overdid it a little with the celly after what turned out to be the game-winner in a January regular season contest. But hey, the Blueshirts are more than a game over .500 for the first time all year & finally sit IN the playoff picture. Most importantly, Hank surrendered less than 3 for just the second time in his last 12 starts. He got lost in his crease for a second period softie, but was outstanding in the first & third against the NHL’s top offense. That’s reason enough to go crazy right now. They’re picking up some steam. 6-2-1 in their last 9, 12-4 away from MSG since late October. Both special teams are sitting just outside the top-5 overall. Tomorrow starts their kryptonite though. 7 of the next 8 are at home where they’re a disappointing 3-5-3 since December. Once again, the Rangers are faced with the perfect opportunity to catch fire in front of their fans & make the first half of mediocrity a distant memory. I’m saying they turn the page. Now’s the time Lundqvist finds his game and leads his squad into the Stadium Series as one of the league’s hottest. The Olympics on the horizon is quite the motivator. Viva la Blueshirts!
