The New York Islanders Are The Hottest Team In The NHL

I refuse to allow this night to end without you realizing the New York Islanders are on fucking fire. The Isles have won eight (8) hockey games in a row. They haven’t lost since October 11th and are statistically the hottest team in the NHL. Sure, there are some teams with better overall records but no one has a current win streak of EIGHT aside from the New York Islanders. Just an absurd run they’re on. This is tied for the 3rd longest streak in franchise history and 2 of the last 3 times that happened, it ended with the Isles bringing the cup down Hempstead Turnpike right past Borrelli’s.

It’s early in the year, I get that…but anytime you win about 10% of your season schedule in a row it’s a big fucking deal. Barry Trotz has turned this team into a well oiled machine where every single player bought into “the system”. What’s the Barry Trotz system you may ask? It’s a full team commitment. Every single player on this roster has a role and every single player has bought into the fact that they have to work their dick off to get results and that’s exactly what they do.

Just like last year, the Isles have given up the least amount of goals in the NHL (29 in 12 games) and they’re getting offensive production from up and down the entire roster. From Barzy to Brassard, no one is missing a beat.
