Pastor Drops "These Hoes Ain't Loyal" In His Sermon And I Might Be Back In On This Church Thing?

So people are freaking out on this pastor for quoting Chris Brown during his sermon.  Saying it was inappropriate and all that bull shit.  I’ll admit quoting a scum bag who beat up his famous girlfriend after an award show isn’t the best person to be referring to in a house of worship.  I totally get that.  But I do like that he’s trying to inject some modern angles and excitement into his sermons.  I grew up going to mass my entire life and they were a snoooooooozefest.  It was basically stand up, sit down, stand up, sing, sit down, stand up, shake stranger’s hands, sit down, stand up, go get a potato chip and wine, sit down, stand up, sing.  That’s really all it was.  It was BRUTAL.  And the stories the priest told were always from some book that nobody ever read and didn’t have anything that kept the attention of those in attendance.  It was all “this guy you don’t know said to this other guy you don’t know will serve this other guy who nobody ever sees and it’s the right thing to do because this book that somebody wrote says so”.  It was awful.  That’s why I stopped going.  Oh, and because it’s all bull shit and the only reason the church exists is to gain power, get tax free donations and to touch little kids.

If religion’s values have been able to stand the test of time, which they clearly have, then there should be modern day metaphors that can be made.  That’s what this pastor was attempting to do.  And did you see the reaction when he dropped the “These hoes ain’t loyal” line?  BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN.  You would’ve thought Hot Sauce just juked some poor white guy into oblivion at the Rucker.  That’s exactly what religion needs to get this latest generation in.  Excitement (and to stop touching little boys.  Seriously guys).

PS- Maybe I just need to start going to an all black church.  It looks awesome.
