When Aaron Rodgers Says "We Got This"... He's Fucking GOT This
What. A. Game.
It started off as a complete offensive mess:
– Geronimo Allison was dropping balls like it was hot, finally had one good play… then suffered a chest injury and walked out to the locker room.
– MVS was injured and missed play time.
– My guy Aaron Jones had a couple of big drops and a fumble.
– Jimmy Graham did absolutely nothing, in the slowest manner possible.
– Darrius Shepherd, well this poor guy just had a shit fire of a game. First he fumbled the return, which Detroit recovered and got a FG out of, then he lost the ball right BEFORE THE END ZONE and turned it over to the Lions.
Completely unfortunate. To the point where you almost felt bad for the guy. And I did once I saw him standing on the sidelines by himself, hanging his head and re-thinking life. Sad.
But once again, as they have many times this season, the Packers defense made up for the unimpressive offensive by holding the Lions to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 field goals. I don’t know how much money Matt Prater makes and I’m not going to look it up because I really don’t care, but whatever it is, it’s not enough.
Especially because those field goals were almost enough to give Detroit the win… until Aaron Rodgers turned it on and started dropping absolute DIMES:
If you’ve never heard of Allen Lazard, that’s probably because prior to this game, he had a grand total of SEVEN career yards. Not game, not season, CAREER yards. Rodgers didn’t have his #1 Davante Adams, Allison was out, Shepherd was turning the ball over in the end zone, so #12 was making it work with a guy who had single-digit yards coming into this game.
Aaron Rodgers is a quarterback god and when he says, “We got this”
He’s fucking got it.
