The Giants Have To Win A Game At Some Point, Right?
There’s no real reason to expect tonight to be a good night for Big Blue. On offense, Coughlin’s trotting out the two-headed monster of Brandon “Sure, I’ll Get Off My Couch And Play” Jacobs and Da’Rel “Yeah, We Just Cut You But We Kinda Need You Back” Scott behind a paper-thin offensive line & the worst statistical QB in the league. On defense, there’s Prince Amukamara anchoring a practice-squad secondary behind an ineffective LB corps & a collective pass rush that’s been out-sacked by 5 individual NFL players. Hard to believe the Giants will turn it around on short rest in Chicago.
They can’t lose every game though, right? And the Bears might be the team to give them their first W. All their once feared defense does well now is stuff the run & take the ball away. Well, there’s no run to stuff. Turnovers? That’s a different story. But they can be scored on through the air, and that falls right into what should be the Giants’ strength. If Eli can be satisfied with just one pick tonight instead of another 3+ shitshow, matching the 28 points/game the Bears allow could be enough. Not because of what the G-Men will do on defense, but simply because 30+ points against in 6 games to start a season has NEVER HAPPENED. Simple odds are with them tonight. No, I don’t think Prince & McBride can handle Marshall & Jeffery. The Giants have no answer for Matt Forte. Jay Cutler’s at career-bests in QBR & completion percentage riding a banged-up Black Unicorn who’s already halfway to his season totals last year with Big Blue. But I’m ignoring all that & going into tonight banking on the hope that, the more they keep losing, the closer they’re getting to a win. That’s about all I got left.
