Brisket Vs Kermit - Colts Vs Chiefs Primetime Preview Blog

It’s GAME NIGHT! The underdog Boys in Blue take on the Chiefs in a rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional playoff game where the Chiefs won 31-13. This is not the game I wanted to be primetime due to the fact that basically the whole team is banged up and out for tonight.

This is rough. Darius Leonard is out, Tyquan Lewis is out, and now Clayton Geathers and Parris Campbell are out. We got 2nd year George Odum and rookie Khari Willis (who had a great game against the Raiders last week) holding down Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Marlon Mack and T.Y. were just activated which means everyone besides Parris Campbell will be playing.

While I don’t believe this game will be close, I think it will be an offensive shootout between Mahomes and Brissett. Even without T.Y. the offense is solid. The Colts are 7th in rushing, Jacoby is tied for 2nd in TD’s with Lamar and Mahomes, and the O-line is improving each week. Jacoby will have to rely on Chester Rogers, Zach Pascal, Deon Cain, Mack, Nyheim Hines, and so God help me Eric Lebron without the L who had the worst game of his life last week against the Raiders. If Ebron can play tonight like a 2018 game with Luck, it will truly be a shootout.

The Colts are 26th in defensive rushing and are battling what may be the most difficult offense this season. We have young rookies such as E.J. Speed and Bobby Okereke looking sharp and are now getting more experience against a top 2 AFC offense. If the d line can stop Speedy McCoy and Damien Williams and get Sheard, Houston, and Turay to attack Mahomes, this could be a close game. If not, Mahomes may have a field day throwing to Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson. With Leonard, Geathers, Hooker, and maybe Walker out, this could be an ugly sight to see. But you can’t count out this team as they have played to the last minute in all 4 games so far. The biggest loss was to the Raiders which was only by 7.

Final Prediction

Of course, I want and am rooting for the Colts to win, but I do not feel confident with the injuries and playing the 2nd best team in the AFC. With that being said, I will have 2 predictions:

Colts Fanatic Prediction: Colts 24 – Chiefs 21

Realistic Prediction: Chiefs 35 – Colts 19

I hope my realistic prediction is wrong. As always, Go Horse.
