Gilbert Arenas is honestly the gift that keeps on giving. Every few weeks it seems like we’re blessed with some sort of hilarious story from Arenas and his give no fucks attitude makes him pretty much a must listen on any topic

So why should things be any different when it comes to himself? Self awareness is everything in life and Arenas certainly has it in spades. Him going B-Rabbit on himself was highly entertaining to read. Not as funny to learn that his girl was cheating on him as soon as he got into the league but hey at least he can look back at that time and laugh at himself. Here’s the thing with Arenas though, even if he does look like a nerd in this picture, he still very much was the killer he thought he may have been in his brain. His rookie season was fairly modest, just 10.9/2.8/3.7/1.5 on 45/34% splits in 24 minutes a night, but once he became a full time starter in Year 2 in GS we started to see that legendary offensive talent start to shine with 18/4.7/6.3/1.5 on 43/35% splits

It’s honestly one of the NBA’s greatest tragedies that Arenas’ knees fucked him over right in the prime of his career starting at age 25. He was coming off an insane run in WSH where he made three consecutive All Star games and then didn’t sniff that level again before he ultimately retired after the 2011-12 season.
