Steph Curry Clearly Does Not Respect Proper Golf Etiquette
OK sure, that shot was impressive there’s no denying that. And of course Steph Curry made it because he’s Steph Curry and he’s awesome at literally anything he tries outside of trying to outplay Fred VanVleet in and NBA Finals or maybe finding a way to beat Kevin Love in isolation with a title on the line. But when it comes to these type of trick shots he’s pretty nails. Well there was that one time in the All Star Game he couldn’t make a half court shot for charity but you get the point. If anything this reminded me of Steph’s famous tunnel shot
But this blog isn’t about him making that shot because we all know Steph Curry can shoot. This is about how for someone who is a pretty avid golfer and someone who could probably make the PGA Tour if he solely focused on golf, Steph Curry clearly does not respect proper golf etiquette. What’s one of the very first things you learn when you start to hit the links? You under no circumstances ever run on the green. The green is extremely fragile, you are supposed to walk softly and respect the green. That’s Day 1 stuff whether you’re Steph Curry, Tiger Woods, or a regular person just trying to break 100. This may be one of the most disrespectful things you can do on a golf course. Imagine if a divot from him running messed with someone’s shot? Did Curry even think of that? Of course not.
This reminded me of when I was a kid and my Dad tried to get me into golf, one of my first times ever on a course he brought me along on one of his rounds and there was a shot that went past the green. Me being the idiot kid I was got out of the cart and sprinted across the green to go find his ball. I’ve never seen a man more mortified/angry in my young life. Here I was thinking I was doing him a solid by finding his ball and I’m pretty sure he wanted to disown me on the spot. We were at Mount Pleasant Country Club and if you know that place you know shit like that doesn’t fly. I learned a very valuable lesson that day that under no circumstances do you ever, EVER, run on a green.
Which is why for someone like Steph Curry who has played a lot of golf in his life and also made a ton of 30 foot trick shots, he should know better. Think of the kids Steph and the example this is showing. Kids nowadays copy everything this man does, now there’s going to be a generation of young golfers who think it’s OK to run on the green next time they are out with their Dads and they’re going to get yelled at just like I did.

Respect the course for me one time Steph, please.
