Shocker: NCAA President Mark Emmert Is A Fucking Moron And Liar In His Attack On Student-Athletes Making Money On Name, Likeness And Image

Every couple days I’m reminded of why I fucking hate this guy. NCAA President Mark Emmert is either a fucking moron or liar – likely both here. Look at these quotes again. He clearly has no idea what in the living hell he’s talking about. Either he needs to be fired for negligence or mocked for being an idiot. Again, preferably both.

So this is in response to California and now New York both attempting to pass bills that would allow student-athletes to receive money for name, likeness and image:

I can’t stress this enough. It’s really not that difficult. You let every single student-athlete make money off of their name, likeness and image. Let the free market dictate what people are worth. Schools pay players in scholarships. That’s fine. If a bar in Tuscaloosa wants to pay Tua $10,000 to use his name for a deal? Let them.

What’s going to happen? The best prospects will go to the biggest and best schools? Can’t imagine a world where Alabama football and Kentucky hoops keep getting the best recruits. Can’t imagine it one bit.

Listen, we already have an idea of what some guys are worth dictated by the free market. As GP says in the tweet above, Brian Bowen a top-25ish recruit was worth $100,000. That’s just a fact. If someone is willing to pay him that, why do we care? We cheer for laundry. We cheer for Kentucky blue, Carolina blue, Texas burnt orange, etc. Let’s not pretend like it’s anything really more than that. A kid getting paid because a business deems he’s worth it doesn’t change that fact.

Oh and as for his biggest issue he’s faced in his last 10 years? What a fucking piece of shit:

Again, it’s not that difficult. ‘Amateurism’ became a thing decades ago and the rulebook hasn’t adjusted since. It’s 2019. It’s time to start looking at it that way instead of screaming about things you clearly don’t know or just lie about.

Again the solution is simple. Don’t change anything with schools and scholarships. That stays as is. However, let every single student-athlete make money off of their name, likeness and image. If Connor the placekick holder gets $5 that’s what he’s worth compared to Jake Fromm the quarterback getting $5,000. You know, like real life, how people that are better and more marketable, etc get paid more.
