Klay Thompson Says No Doubt The Warriors Would Have Won The Finals If He Didn't Get Hurt - Plus He Fucking LOVES Gardner Minshew

I don’t even think it’s that shocking of a comment. What is Klay supposed to say? Naturally some people are yelling about it on Twitter and the Internet, because that’s what people do. But, would you rather Klay say ‘you know, I actually don’t think we would have won two games in a row.’ Come on, no professional athlete or even an athlete at any competitive level should say that.
We all know the story. Klay tears his ACL, runs out of the tunnel and drills a couple free throws before getting taken out of the game. It was a cool moment in the sense that Klay just didn’t give a shit, he knew he had to get some points.
“I knew I hurt something, but I’ve just never done an ACL or any type of ligament,” Thompson said. “I’ve never torn nothing in my life. So, when I did that, I thought it might have been a sprained knee. Maybe I’d go back … I didn’t even think about it. I just heard that I had to go shoot the free throws and I literally just turned around and walked back like it was …”
Now, I have no idea if the Warriors hold on in the 4th quarter in game 6. It’d be stupid to rule them out. But, that’s not the point of the story. The real thing are these two quotes. First, he fucking loves Gardner Minshew.
Thompson paused mid-sentence again. He’s staring ahead again. He was shaking his head in disbelief. This time at the television. Jacksonville quarterback Gardner Minshew had just lobbed a pretty 22-yard pass to D.J. Chark for a touchdown.
Obviously there’s the Washington State connection, but I never needed to see two guys hit the town more than Klay and Minshew. Just imagine the stories that would come out with these two guys:
Also the fact that Klay has talked about being more at peace. That’s why he’s out here publicly going out all over the place with his model and actress girlfriend Laura Harrier. That’s why he’s heckling players at Cubs games. That’s why everything he does is laugh out loud funny. I hope he gets back. He’s one of my favorite players – especially when he’s proving JackMac wrong about being overrated. There are few things more fun than when Klay is hot and knows it.
