Brissett Vs Matt Ryan: The Shootout Of The Century! Colts Game 3 LIVE BLOG
GAME DAY! The Boys In Blue open up Lucas Oil Stadium to the Atlanta Falcons in the first home game of the season. After traveling West Coast and a little down south, it's about time we come back to the stadium where Peyton Manning is honored for eternity. This is the first NFC opponent of the season and it looks to be battle. Here's what you should keep an eye on:
-Colts linebackers. Darius Leonard is in concussion protocol and is out for the game. Look for Bobby Okereke and E.J. Speed to get much playing time. Anthony Walker will have to step up and be the voice of the defense and Justin Houston will have to play with the same energy from last week against the Titans.
-Who the hell is going to stop Julio and Calvin Ridley?? Besides Vinatieri's field goals, this is the biggest concern of the game. I don't know if we can guard Julio. The D-line has looked really good the past 2 games, but the coverage hasn't been great the past 2 games. We might expect Julio to be double covered, the linebackers to watch for Calvin in the slot, and for Julio to torch us "hopefully" just a couple of times. This is our biggest concern and I'm interested to see how Eberflus prepared the boys this week.
-Another challenge for Jacoby Brisket. The grill is being turned on for the 3rd time this season and it seems each week, the grill has to be turned up higher as the defenses get better and better. The whole offense is active, but Marlon Mack missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but decided to play today. I think we will let Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines play more than usual today. This is a game where we NEED T.Y. and Eric Lebron with the L to have an amazing game. The Falcons defense looked good against the Eagles last week and will yet again put our O-Line to the test.
Final Predictions: We will stop Devontae Freeman, Julio and Calvin Ridley might torch our defense, Jacoby vs Matt Ryan may turn out to be a shootout, and Vinny will be 2/2 on field goals. Colts 25, Falcons 24. By the way, the Line is Colts -1.5 so Falcons +1.5 may be a great bet if you aren't a positive biased Colts fan and writer like yours truly. As always, Go Horse.
