WHERE WERE YOU WHEN MATT RAMBO CALLED GAME AND WON THE FIRST EVER PLL CHAMPIONSHIP?
Attackman of the Year. Regular season MVP. Championship Game MVP. PLL Champion. And the King of Philadelphia.
Matt Rambo went out there today at Talen Energy Stadium and proved to the world that the best lacrosse players come out of Philly. We’ll have more on the full game later in the weekend but holy shit what a moment from the hometown kid. And it wasn’t even just the overtime game winner. The game was on the line with 30 seconds left. Whipsnakes down by 1. Obviously the ball was going to end up in Rambo’s stick and he was going to staple that shit to the back of the net.
Then takes the ball again in the first possession of the overtime and becomes an immediate legend. The first ever PLL championship game goes to OT and it’s Matt Rambo with the dagger. That’s a piece of lacrosse history that will live on forever. What a game. What a season. Lacrosse used to be the Sport of the Future, but the future is now so I don’t even know what to call it anymore.
P.S. – Not gonna say that having Rambo on the pod this week gave him that extra bump he needed to deliver the dagger, but I’m also not gonna not say it.
