I've Waited On This Season For My Entire Life: THIS IS THE YEAR

DAWWWWWWG CHECKKKKK!

This is the year.

I’m not going to waste my breath talking about how many times I’ve uttered those words. How many quarterbacks we’ve drafted that I deemed Hall of Famers. How we haven’t won a playoff game since returning to Cleveland in 1999. None of that matters in the year of 2019. The air feels differently in Northeast Ohio this morning. There’s a certain pep in everyone’s step. This isn’t the last 20 years, this is the year. Because at a certain point, the dawg just comes out. And here he comes…

All of you haters and losers can remind us that we’re still the Cleveland Browns, but as the great Freddie Kitchens once said, if you do not wear Orange and Brown then you do not matter. I’m not listening to the hate this season, even though I have a very strong feeling that the hate will stop after we hang a 40 burger on the Titans today. Which brings me to my next point, how blessed are we that we get to play the Titans at home today?

The Cleveland Browns have not won an opener in 14 years. We have started 0-1 (or 0-0-1) since as far back as my memory works. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have opening day memories.

We’ve seen it all. But today we get the TITANS. At home. They could’ve put us on primetime vs. the Patriots, but they threw us a bone. A dog bone, if you will. And I thank the great commissioner every day for it. Your Cleveland Browns are starting off 1-0 this year.

And the city knows it, too. The Muni Lot has been absolutely rocking since last night. Maybe a little too much rocking…

Get well soon buddy. You have 5 hours to recover from that CTE before kickoff. We need you in the stadium today.

Anyways, we’ve got the talent. We’ve got the coach. We’ve got the quarterback. We’ve got the GM. And we’ve always had the fans. I’ve been waiting on this season for my entire life. This is the year.

Week 1: Browns 40 – Titans 13

Season: 12-4 (AFC North Champions)

Playoffs: Wildcard Round (Bye), Divisional Round (Beat the….Texans? Who cares…Chiefs vs. Pats on the other side), Conference Championship — Pats AT Browns. I won’t make a prediction on that game until January.
