Respect The Biz: Soccer Reporter Getting Blasted In The Face With A Sprinkler Is Clearly Staged

I’m sorry but I just can’t stand seeing this clip go around anymore with captions like “goals” and “this is everything”. Or like Reags said earlier this morning, “The Definition Of A Professional”. It’s a quirky little clip, sure. But do you mean to tell me that this reporter and his cameraman just so happened to pick the one spot on the entire pitch that had a sprinkler going just by chance? As the late great philosopher KFC once said, “for sure not”.

I can respect this goofy Russian bastard for still standing there and taking that sprinkler to the grill all in the name of content. He got the shot they wanted and now he’s a hero to the circle jerk that is sports journalists on Twitter. But that doesn’t change the fact that he has zero journalistic integrity and morals. We shouldn’t be applauding him for that. Because right now at this very moment, there is a kid about to start up his or her first day of classes at Syracuse or Northwestern or wherever the hell it is that all of these sports journalists come from. And there may come a time in that young kid’s career where they actually do get blasted in the face accidentally by a sprinkler in the middle of a shot. But guess what? Nobody is going to believe they didn’t set that up to happen all because this Russian bastard ruined it for everybody. So if that’s what is considered “goals” these days, well then I never want to score again.
