An ALL-TIME Spin Zone By Jeremy Lin: Thinks Him Breaking Down And Crying About His Rock Bottom Was 'The Strongest Thing He Could Have Done'

We all remember this from last week. KFC and myself both blogged something about it. Jeremy Lin breaking down saying he hit rock bottom because he feels like the NBA gave up on him. Well, he spoke with The Athletic and gave us an all-time and I mean all-time spin zone saying it was the strongest thing he could have done

“I think showing weakness is one of the greatest signs of strength,” Lin told the audience Friday. “Ironically, to be able to be OK with your weakness is one of the strongest things you could do. Who doesn’t have weaknesses? We all do. But to show them is one of the strongest things you can do.

“And I just feel like I know why I’m doing that. If I rubbed people the wrong way, I’m sorry. But at the end of the day, I know what I’ve been through, I know the obstacles that I’ve been through, and I also know what kind of player I can become, and I know I haven’t done that. And so that’s what I’m going to continue to do is chase that and try to be the best version of myself.”

Listen, I get you’ve been through obstacles. You were undrafted and probably unfairly looked at as Asian-American basketball player. Stereotypes happen, it sucks and I get that. But bro, you have a Harvard education! You made millions upon millions of dollars playing basketball. Yeah, you had a nasty injury, but guess what. Careers come to an end. You simply weren’t playing good basketball. There’s a reason the Raptors played you like 24 minutes in the playoffs.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. Here’s the real thing. Lin turns 31 this month. Most careers end before you turn 30. The fact that he was able to make it this long as an undrafted free agent is absurd. He’s also not really bringing anything to a team right now because he’s a below average shooter and defender. Those are two things teams tend to look for right now.

I can appreciate the spin zone though. Hell of a spin zone, but I shouldn’t be that surprised – again, we’re talking about a guy with a Harvard education. Oh and let’s not forget he turned down a nice contract from CSKA Moscow hoping for an NBA gig. He can still play basketball! Let’s not forget that.

Again, sign me up for his rock bottom every single goddamn day of the week.
