Kanye West Offered Danny McBride The Role Of Kanye West In A Kanye West Biopic

You can watch the whole interview above, but the gist of it is this: Kanye asked Danny McBride to play him in a biopic about his life.

This is what I want someone to do: Take a video of yourself saying that idea and post it on Tic Tok just so that I can watch it on a continual loop until my phone dies for good and I have a treatable case of conjunctivitis that will clear up in enough time that I’ll be able to safely wear my contacts to the actual movie when it comes out. I want to make short n sweet love to this idea. Kenny Powers as Kanye West. Just thinking about it is making me laugh. Kanye has one of the most incredible story arcs of a life ever. He came up in the golden era of rap as a beat maker, started saving the best ones so that he could be a rapper, married the most famous woman in the world, launched the most successful sneaker line since Jordan, and is now boys with the most controversial president of all time. It would basically be the first half of the typical “life of a rockstar” movie without all the sad stuff for the last hour. It is “The Dirt” or “Scarface” without all the drug addictions and the inevitable downfall that follows. My dream movie.

Danny McBride is the BEST at playing wild, brazen, irrationally confident characters, and he is hilarious doing it. A lot of the Kanye haters out there—I’m not one, but I get it—don’t like Kanye because he takes himself so seriously. That element suddenly becomes hysterical if Danny McBride is playing him in a movie. Other people also don’t like him because of how he aligned with Trump, but those same people would be crying laughing watching those interactions play out if the dickhead from Vice Principals is chilling with LORD KNOWS who they’d find to play Big Donny.

Love this idea and honestly just wrote this blog to put good energy into the air so that it might happen someday.
