The Trailer For 'Top Gun: Maverick' Dropped And I Am BUTTERED UP

I feel like I’ve been covering the production of this movie since my first day here, and boy did this trailer pay off. The one thing I was afraid of coming into this movie is that they would default to overusing SFX as opposed to practical effects. I think Tom Cruise learned from the positive response to ‘Mission Impossible: Fallout’, though, because this looks like an incredibly authentic looking sequel with a way more serious tone than the original. I’m all buttered up just thinking about it and can’t wait to see this cast teamed up. If you missed some of my previous blogs on the subject, the cast includes Tom Cruise returning as Maverick and Val Kilmer is returning as Iceman. The new additions that have been previously announced are Miles Teller (Whiplash) and Glen Powell (Set it up) as well as Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind). Thomasin McKenzie (Leave No Trace), Charles Parnell (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation) Monica Barbaro (Chicago Justice) and Bashir Salahuddin (Snatched) also have supporting roles.
