Chauncey Billups Says Carmelo Still Isn't In The NBA Because Scoring 30 Points Per Game Means Too Much To Melo .. Uhh, Ya Think?

Carmelo is probably the most polarizing player in recent NBA memory. Him or Dwight Howard. Ironically enough, both are going to be first ballot Hall of Famers. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. ‘No they aren’t.’ I’ll happily bet you they easily make the basketball Hall of Fame.

And don’t get it twisted, Billups isn’t calling Melo a bad teammate. It’s a mental thing. Melo is wired to score. That’s who he’s been his entire career. Hell, go back to his Oak Hill days and he was that way. The dude was a walking bucket for a large portion of his career. So of course he wants to go drop 30 per game.

But, this is a deeper look into why Melo isn’t in the NBA. Sure, he can be inefficient. Sure, he has a hard time accepting his role as a guy that should be coming off the bench and be a secondary option. But, it’s because that’s not how he’s wired. Some guys can change the way they think. Some can’t. Melo just happens to be the biggest name for a guy that’s been unable to do that.

Now let’s just get it done and put him on the Lakers.
