Action Network- If Mills signs the bill into law, Maine would become the 15th state in total to have sports betting (and the seventh this year).
On the final day of its legislative session, Maine lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to approve a bill that would legalize sports betting in the state. The bill, which would allow for wagering both in person and via mobile devices, now heads to Gov. Janet Mills’ desk.
Hey Mainers! Grab a fistful of tiny wild blueberries, a pipin’ hot buttered lobster roll, and your internet-enabled cell phone—it’s time to place yer bets! WEEEEHAWWWW. Looking to pay for those expensive tickets to Aquaboggin? Need some spare change to pay those vet bills because Buster got quilled? Struggling to scrounge up that scruff needed to fortify your camper against bear attacks? Now, you don’t have to win it all on the tables at the Oxford casino. Just throw down that $200 rent money on the ol’ Sea Dogs and you’ll be swimming in puss over at PT’s tonight.
I love the great state of Maine so much and I’m so glad we’re joining the ranks of Nevada, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, New York, Tennessee and Washington D.C. Talk about the cherry on top. We’ve got weed now too, but I don’t really understand how you get it. Something about ordering a gift? Weedmaps? Can someone explain this to me? Thank you.
Guess Dave and Big Cat can finally take me up on that offer of a boy’s weekend in my home state. For years, they’ve shrugged it off saying they can’t gamble legally up there. Not no more! Barstool is coming to Maine. Get ready.
PS- Barstool is not coming to Maine.
