Sundqvist Is Not Playing, He's Suspended

No real surprise here. The NHL Department of Player Safety suspended St. Louis Blue Oskar Sundqvist for his dangerous boarding of Boston’s Matt Grzelcyk during Game 2 last night at the Garden.

Sundqvist was given a deuce for boarding but DOPS clearly thought he deserved more. Grizz went right to MGH in an ambulance after the hit where he was diagnosed with a concussion. The tough-as-nails Townie defenseman wanted back in the game after the crushing hit but was instead (wisely) placed into concussion protocol.

He did not fly to St. Louis with the team and will miss at least Game 3. Though on the third pair, he’s been an absolute rock for the Bs on the back end and the team wasn’t the same after he left the game. Hopefully he gets back soon.
