Tonight's The Night. Flyers Will Induct Eric Lindros And John LeClair Into The Hall Of Fame And It's Already Dusty In Here

It’s been on the schedule for a few months now but tonight is finally the night where Eric Lindros and John LeClair receive the honor they both deserve and get inducted into the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame. For any Flyers fan tonight is a huge night. Things haven’t always been perfect in the city’s relationship with Big E. There have been plenty of ups and there have been a fair share of downs. But regardless of however you remember the Lindros Era in Philadelphia, there’s no denying that he was the most dominant Flyer to ever play the game. Yeah he may not have ever won a Cup and maybe he never learned how to skate across the blueline with his head up, but he’s the only legitimate superstar the Flyers have had in my lifetime. He had the kind of size and talent that will transcend time. And this isn’t to take anything away from LeClair. He was an incredible player as well who was a scoring machine. The two of these guys together were lights out and while Giroux and Voracek are playing well together at the moment, its possible that we’ll never see a duo as dangerous as Lindros and LeClair again wearing Orange and Black.

Say what you want about the guys not being able to put the full thing together, but they’re the reason why Flyers hockey is what it is to this day. If you were a kid growing up during this era, they spoiled you. You had playoff hockey all the time and more times than not you had a lot of it. You got to watch 2 of the greatest go out there and compete night after night and usually have their way with the other guys. They’re the reason why last night’s loss to the Rangers was so goddamn disgusting and why Hextall had to barge into the locker room last night to make sure everyone in there knew how shitty that performance was. Because back when Hexy was playing with 88 and 10 in front of him, no way in hell would that kind of game with such little energy fly. There will probably be a lot of onions being cut at the Wells Fargo Center tonight, and lets hope the Flyers don’t play like complete dickbags again. Would be nice to end this night with a win. If you’re at the game tonight and want to be a pal, send any photos/videos to @barstooljordie.

Sidenote – Kinda wish I had the adoption papers ready to be signed when this picture was taken.
