I don’t give a shit about being classy. I don’t give a shit about sportsmanship. And I certainly don’t give a fuck about Mariano Rivera’s fucking farewell tour. We gave him his stupid plaque when he set the all time saves record, now that’s enough. I don’t want tributes to Chipper Jones airing at Citi Field. I don’t want an opposing pitcher who’s STILL FUCKING PLAYING throwing out the first pitch because its his last time in our building. None of these moves mean a goddam thing to these athletes and all it does is piss off an already angry fanbase.
I hate the Yankees, everyone that plays for them, and everyone that roots for them. I never want to do anything nice to honor any of them. I don’t care about nice gestures. And like 99% of Mets fans will agree with me. It’s more stupid shit from owners who are completely out of touch with their fans in an effort to try to fit in with the winners across town. You know what the best way to do that is? Put a fucking winning product on the field. Do that rather than washing Mariano’s balls and earn their respect the old fashioned way.
