Daisy The 7 Year Old Shih Tzu Saved Her Entire Family From A House Fire This Weekend

KCCI- Daisey is a 7-year-old Shih Tzu. Her bark saved the lives of Kaylee Funaro and her parents after a fire broke out just after 2 a.m. “I heard her barking even when I was in my room and I kind of woke up,” Funaro said. The family was able to get out of the house and call 911 before the smoke detectors went off. That gave firefighters enough time to contain the blaze to the garage. The garage and cars sustained $70,000 worth of damage, while the house sustained minor smoke damage. Firefighters were able to save the family’s 21-year-old cat Toby from the fire.

Days off.  Dog’s don’t take them but you already knew that.  I bet Daisy doesn’t even consider herself a hero.  She just did what any other dog would’ve done in this same situation, save her family from burning alive and wanting nothing in return but a few chicken treats and belly scratches.  Dogs gonna dog.  I don’t know if they’ve determined what or who caused the car to start on fire in the garage but I’d be willing to offer up an opinion.  You see the last part of the article blurb there?  The part that’s not getting enough attention?  “Firefighters were able to save the family’s 21 year old cat Toby from the fire.”  The smart money is on Toby being the culprit behind this house fire.  I mean he’s 21 years old for fucks sake.  Toby sees the handwriting on the wall.  Cats are nothing if not aware of mortality, even their own.  He knows he doesn’t have much time left on Earth.  So why not leave on his own terms, start a house fire while everybody is asleep and take a few innocent people with him?  Innocent people who have kept his old ass alive all these years.  Well nice try, cat that is of legal drinking age.  Not on Daisy’s watch.  The Funaros need to keep their eyes peeled and smoke alarm batteries fresh.  I fully expect Toby to strike again as soon as he gets a chance.
