Press-Citizen- A Des Moines woman was hit and injured by a car around the 3000 block of Woodland Avenue, after she reminded the male suspect to wash the dishes, according to a Des Moines Police report. A witness said he saw the suspect leave the house and the victim followed after him. The victim kept asking the suspect why he was upset while standing in the driveway. The suspect suddenly entered his car and accelerated the vehicle towards the woman and hit her, causing her to fly into the air. The witness said the suspect did not even stop to check on the well-being of the woman, and instead, fled the scene. When officers visited the hospital to speak with the victim, they noticed she was in fairly good condition. The victim said the man was upset because she reminded him it was his turn to help with dishes. She said when she followed the suspect outside, she attempted to calm him down and then he hit her with his vehicle.

Well this lady picked the wrong day to nag her boyfriend about it being his turn to wash the dishes, huh?  One minute she’s asking her significant other to do a simple household chore and the next minute he’s using his automobile as a battering ram and trying to launch her through the closed garage door.  That’s what we like to call a rational response.  Nothing worse than being nagged.  Honestly he probably just wanted to sit and do nothing during his Memorial Day Weekend.  At a certain point that’s all us guys wants to do.  Sit on our asses, drink a few beers and do absolutely nothing.  It’s the dream Peter Gibbons attempted to live out in Office Space.  Fuckin’ A.  But if we’re being honest, every day is the worst day to be nagged about doing the dishes.  You could be having the best day of your life.  Sun’s shining and bird’s chirping.  All is right with the world.  And then in the blink of an eye you’re having the worst day of your life when somebody asks you to do the dishes.  It’s among the worst chores out there.  For this couple, it might be time to switch to paper plates.  Or get a dish washer.  Either one will prevent any future scenarios where a person attempts to run down a significant other in a fit of rage.  I recommend paper plates.  Takes all the work out of the equations.  Even if it is poor people shit.
