Apple's Acquisition Of Beats By Dre May Be On Hold After Dr. Dre Drunkenly Proclaimed To Be The First Billionaire In Hip Hop

Yahoo!- We haven’t heard anything official about its supposed $3.2 billion purchase of Beats from Apple yet and now Billboard reports there’s a good reason for that. According to Billboard’s sources, Apple was not at all happy about a video posted by actor Tyrese Gibson where a couple of weeks ago in which Beats founder and hip-hop legend Dr. Dre boastsabout becoming “the first billionaire in hip-hop.” Apple was also probably not happy to hear that Gibson said that Dre was “drunk off of Heinekens” in the video, which was posted on Gibson’s Facebook page right after news broke that Apple would be buying Beats for $3.2 billion.

Whoops!  That’s not very mogul like.  So you just sold your company for $3.2 billion and are on your way to never ever having to do anything for the rest of your life.  You can buy a private island and live out the rest of your life there.  So what do you do first?  Get drunk off a bunch of Heinekens with your boys and proclaim to be the first billionaire in your field in a video with Tyrease who apparently is in fact still alive.  But that causes the acquiring company to go completely silent on the deal and it may or may not be in limbo now.  Yikes.  That’s a bad day.  No matter what stupid shit you say or text this Memorial Day weekend at least you won’t have possibly cost you and your company 3.2 billion dollars.

If we’re being honest, Apple is being a bunch of pussies here.  What did they expect?  Anybody who gets a pay day like that is going to celebrate and go all out.  Dr. Dre is one of the most outspoken and cocky guys in the entertainment industry.  He’s not going to keep quiet.  Every normal person would do the same thing.  My guess is the deal still goes through.  But if you’re Dre right now, how much are you freaking the fuck out?  Drunken regret to the absolute max.

And now, a Tyrease song
