An Argument Over Ford vs Chevy Trucks Naturally Ends With Some Gunshots And Surprisingly Enough, It Wasn't In Florida

Fox News – A Virginia man was arrested last week after he allegedly shot two people because they seemingly disagreed on a topic: which is better, a Chevy or a Ford?

Mark Turner, 56, was taken into custody on April 23 after the incident, which took place the night before. Turner, his girlfriend, his girlfriend’s son and the son’s girlfriend were eating dinner at a home in Bedford, a city roughly 28 miles east of Roanoke, when the group went out to the front yard. Soon, an argument broke out between Turner and his girlfriend’s son, WSET reported. The two couldn’t agree on whether Chevrolet or Ford vehicles were better.

Turner allegedly whipped out a knife during his argument, a situation which Turner’s girlfriend tried to deescalate. According to the Bedford County Commonwealth’s Attorney Wes Nance, Turner’s girlfriend was stabbed with the knife in her lower back, sustaining a six-inch wound.

The man then retrieved a gun from inside the home. When his girlfriend again put herself between Turner and her son, Turner allegedly shot her in the leg five times, and shot her son in the arm.

Now before we get going here, I think it’s pretty important to point out that everybody involved in this situation is still alive and the psychopath who started shooting up the joint over a truck argument has since been taken into custody. Now that that’s out of the way, press play and enjoy the rest of the blog with a little musical accompaniment.

I don’t even know where to begin on this one. But I’ll tell you right now that this is just about as close to a Red Neck Bingo as a news story could possibly get. The only thing that’s missing from this story is the fact that it wasn’t in Florida. You could read the headline “Man Shoots His Girlfriend And His Girlfriend’s Son Over ‘Ford vs Chevy’ Argument” and 150 times out of 100, everybody is guessing that it took place in Florida. This story threw a little curveball at us by going down in Virginia but other than that? It’s Red Neck gold.

You have the argument over the trucks, obviously. You’ve clearly got a ton of booze involved here. You’ve got guns. And you’ve got a 56-year-old man shooting his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s son on a night that they were all supposed to just be having a lovely family dinner together. You know what? You add the free space in there and that’s good enough for a Bingo call for me. Red Neck Bingo! Red Neck Bingo!

I’ll tell you what though. There ain’t no gang violence in America quite like some good ol’ fashion Ford vs Chevy gang violence. Bloods vs Crips? Get real. That’s child’s play compared to Ford vs Chevy. Just think about the extreme levels of fragile masculinity it takes in order for somebody to break out a gun over an argument about pickup trucks.  People argue over pointless shit all the time. But for somebody to then take it to the level where bullets are flying everywhere because they think that their pickup truck is better than another person’s pickup truck even though they are essentially the same vehicle with minor differences here and there? I guess we should all just be thankful that the cops didn’t show up in a Dodge Ram. We’d have a full blown war on our hands if that was the case.
