Happy Two Year Anniversary To This All Time Celtics Playoff Moment

Crazy how time flies isn’t it? You may not be aware of this, but today marks the two year anniversary of Isaiah Thomas going out and putting on one of the greatest individual playoff performances in Celtics history. Aside from the 53 points, it also happened on his sister Chyna’s birthday, who is the sister he lost at the start of the playoffs due to a car accident. I’m not being hyperbolic either when talking about this performance, it was the 6th highest scoring mark in NBA history, and the 5th time in Celtics history someone broke 50. Only John Havlicek (RIPIP) scored more for this franchise in a playoff game and he had 54.

Seeing as how we’re still waiting for tomorrow’s Game 3 tip, what better way to kill some time and get your mind right than reliving what an awesome night this was at the Garden? I can’t think of one

I can only imagine what was going through Isaiah mind on that day. He went through absolute hell and still showed up and balled his dick off for this franchise, and that’s something that will always stick with me. He could have sat out, maybe he should have sat out when this all went down in that Bulls series, but he played and he dominated. Then, just a few weeks later to have this performance on her birthday is some crazy shit. He even touched on this during his lone visit back to Boston earlier this year

Things are obviously much different now for everyone involved, but as far as I’m concerned that performance will live forever live on as one of the best playoff moments in Celtics playoff history (yes, even if it was only in the 2nd round).
