Mets PR Man Jay Horowitz Says He Was Just Joking When He Tweeted That Matt Harvey Would Be Skipping Tomorrow's Game To Attend Rangers Game 4
Matt Harvey has Mets permission to skip game tomorrow and be at MSG to root on Rangers. Matt has not seen Rangers lose at home. 6-0.

Jeff Wilpon not happy that Matt Harvey was leaving for game. Instead Jeff said he would put entire game on board at Citi so Matt could stay.

The only, and I mean only, thing that makes me think that this was really all a joke is that Matt Harvey is too smart to actually think skipping tomorrows game to go to the Rangers is a good idea. Otherwise this is all COMPLETELY plausible from the New York Mets. And thats the real problem here. The fact that this is being debated as “Joke or not?” is really sick when you think about it. That sums up the New York Mets. As a Mets fan, its completely within the realm of possibility that a Mets pitcher would ask to skip a game to go to watch another team. Its completely within the realm of possibility that the Mets would allow it. And completely within the realm of possibility that the head of PR would announce it to the world.
Maybe as an outsider you think we’re idiots. Maybe to you this is clearly a joke. How could you ever believe that this is true! Because we’ve seen it all. Heard it all. And this wouldn’t even slightly faze me if it turned out to be true.
Bottom line is I think it’s time for Jay Horowitz to hang em up. Both on twitter and in real life. If theres one thing the Mets need, its to completely overhaul their PR.
