The New York Giants Drafting Dwayne Haskins Would Be The Biggest Crossover Event Of My Life

On Thursday night Roger Goodell will step up to the podium in Nashville, Tennessee and get mercilessly booed because he’s a clown. But if he steps up to the podium with the Giants pick at 6th overall and doesn’t call Dwayne Haskins name I will mercilessly boo Dave Gettleman, the Giants GM, because he would also be a clown.

I’m not saying this because I have Dwayne Haskins on the lock screen on my cell phone. I’m not saying this because I’m a diehard Ohio State fan/alum and diehard New York Giants fan. I already know people are going to say I’m biased because I went to Ohio State but I don’t give a fuck, Dwayne Haskins is the best QB in this draft class bar none. Say what you want but I watched every single snap he took last year for the Buckeyes and he is SPECIAL. He shattered every Ohio State and Big 10 passing record. Game after game after game he put the team on his back and carried one of the most inconsistent defenses in recent Ohio State memory to win the Big 10 and the Rose Bowl. If it wasn’t for Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State probably loses 3-4 games this season but still went 13-1 due to Dwayne Haskins bailing out our shitty ass defense by putting up 50 points every game. He’s 6’3 230 pounds with a cannon for an arm and as accurate as they come. He threw for 4,831 yards, 50 TDs and only 8 INTS on 533 pass attempts while completing 70% of his passes. He had one of the best seasons in the history of College Football but and would have won the Heisman Trophy most years if he didn’t get overshadowed by Kyler Murray and Tua.

What I think gets slept on about Dwayne more than anything is how big time he is in the clutch. Two years ago JT Barrett got hurt in the biggest game of the year at Michigan. Ohio State was losing and it was looking like our season was doomed. Then Dwayne Haskins comes in, a poised and prepared freshman who led us to victory and started the story of his legend as a Buckeye that day and the rest is history. He brought us back this year against Penn State in Happy Valley when we were down two scores with 7 minutes left and he throws 2 late touchdown passes to win us the game. Then we play Michigan at home, with Michigan coming in as 4.5 point favorites with the best defense in the country (hahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha) Dwayne throws for 396 yards and 6 TDs (no turnovers) and then throws for 499 yards and 5 TDs in the Big 10 Championship game.

People have continued to chirp me saying “name one good NFL QB to ever come out of Ohio State!” and thats the cheapest, most lazy, bullshit logic I’ve ever heard. Miami of Ohio never had a good NFL QB before Big Ben, does that mean he couldn’t be good? Alcorn State never had a good NFL QB, so Steve McNair couldn’t have possibly been good right? Tennessee never had a stud NFL so there was no way Peyton Manning could be good right? Get the fuck out of here with that trash ass argument. If you watched even 2 quarters of Ohio State football this season it should have been abundantly clear he’s a completely different player at QB than Ohio State has ever had. No on in the country can throw the ball like he can. He’s not a runner, although Stephen A. Smith thinks otherwise because he probably didn’t watch him take a single snap just like the rest of you jackasses who say he’s got a suck in the NFL.

Dwayne Haskins has the ability to make every single throw. He’s not a dual threat but he has the mobility to move outside the pocket to extend and make plays and has the ability to throw accurately rolling out to his right and his left. His ability to read defenses and use his eyes to use move defensive backs is NFL level even though he’s only started for 1 year.

He has the arm talent, football IQ, confidence, poise and good head on his shoulders to be an elite NFL QB for years. Anyone who sits down and watches his tape will see that. Please Dave Gettleman, don’t let out franchise QB slip away from us because you’re a fucking moron. He’s showed he wants to be a Giant, he’s from New Jersey. He’s the real deal and passing on him is going to make me want to jump off a bridge because I can already feel Gettleman isn’t going to take him. I’m praying all this talk of the Giants wanting Daniel Jones from duke is a smokescreen because that guy is going to be a BUM. I’d rather trade our second round pick for Josh Rosen than take that big tall idiot who went to Duke because he’d make better stock broker than a football player. Do the right thing G-men, use your brain and take the guy that has the potential lead us to our next 2 Super Bowls. Not the guy who looks good in shorts, but the guy who looks good actually playing football. You won’t see a better QB and maybe better player in this draft, than Dwayne Haskins. The Giants could use some of that Ohio State tradition, energy and winning attitude into the Giants locker room now more than ever. (Drafting Ohio State players has worked out pretty well for the Saints, just saying.)
