Meet Me In St. Louis! Stars End The Predators And Set A Date With The St. Louis Blues

MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS!!! John Klingberg with the laser beam to send P.K. Subban and friends home for the summer. Winnipeg and Nashville BOTH out in the first round. Wow. The Stars come in as the 7 seed in the conference but are playing great hockey right now. Blues/Stars will be a great series. I will have a full breakdown coming but in short, I am ready to go to war with Dallas. Just like 2016, the Blues will go play the Stars in the second round and I can only hope it goes as well as that series did. Benn-Seguin-Radulov is as highly skilled as any line in the league, but after beating Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler I will not expect the Blues to be very intimidated. Heiskanen and Klingberg present a very different challenge than the giants of the Winnipeg defense and Ben Bishop is certainly playing better than Hellebuyck as of late, but there are no easy series in the second round either way! More tomorrow.

For now, what a game that was, holy shit. Almost 80 minutes of hockey all within one goal. I wish they would have played even longer and all gotten so tired they didn’t move for a week, but that still had to be pretty exhausting.

Each regulation tally was a quick counterstrike or classic playoff muck and grind goal. Nothing too crazy on either side.
