I Have Moved Adam Rank To The Top Of My Draft Board

In today’s modern NFL, you might not know this but it’s a pass happy League. Folks are throwing the pigskin around the yard like never before. So, I ask the question: is there any more valuable position on the defensive side of the ball than cornerback? Sure, some may argue that an edge rusher can get to the quarterback and leave quite the impact on the game. But if you remember this past Super Bowl I’d argue Stephon Gilmore played a much larger role than either Aaron Donald or Ndamukong Suh. And folks it’s a copycat league so if you don’t think there’s going to be an early run on corners this year you’ve got another thing coming.

And what’s the most important skill for a cornerback to possess? That’s right, it’s the ability to backpedal. And in the screenshot located above, you saw Adam Rank backpedal vs. a professional quarterback like prime Revis. I know we’re only a few weeks out from the Draft but now is arguably the most important time to make a last stand for the talent evaluators out there. Teams are crossing their Ts and dotting their Is, doing everything they can to make sure they don’t leave these seven rounds with busts upon busts. You wont find anyone else in this Draft who has actually shown off their skillset against a proven NFL arm which is exactly why I’ve moved Rank to the top of my Big Board this late in the game.
