FUCK: The ASU Sun Devils Lost 2 of 3 To #2 Oregon State, So Here's A Bunch Of Pics Of Tempe 12 Girls

This is hardly the news I wanted to bring to you this on a Monday morning.  I’m shaking just writing it.  Arizona State, alma mater of Barry Bonds, Reggie Jackson and that midget Dustin Pedroia, lost 2 games in a 3 game set to 2nd ranked Oregon State this weekend.  Heartbreaking.  But if I know my ASU following like I think I do, there’s nothing that can get them to rebound from a hard fought battle like a montage of the famous Tempe 12s.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Tempe 12s:

Feeling better?  I know I am.  But I’m also obligated to break down the series a little bit.

GAME 1:

Alec Marsh fucking dominated.  Complete game, only 4 base runners surrendered and 1 unearned run.  The Jr. RHP is cruising this season with 62.1 IP and a 2.02 ERA with 54 Ks to only 22 walks.  He’s at worst on his way to PAC12 1st team, and at best on his way to an All American campaign.  We talked about him a while back and how he’s kinda a scumbag for being a Packers fan and even worse someone who “likes Aaron Rodgers” but we won’t totally hold that against him because he can really spin a baseball.  And spin it he did against ASU.  At one point he retired 15 of 17 hitters and ASU gutted out a 4-1 win.

GAME 2:

ASU was fighting a two front war in game 2.  One game against Oregon State, the 2nd against umpires.  ASU dropped the game 6-4, but they didn’t lose to Oregon State, they lost to shitty umpiring.  Let’s set the stage. See this picture?

Tie game 4-4 in the top of the 8th.  Full count, sacks packed with Beavers.  This looks like a swing for a strike 3 correct? Well it wasn’t.  Both the dickhead home plate umpire and the 3rd base umpire decided to make the game all about them and didn’t ring him up.  Disgusting.  A complete and total mockery of the umpiring profession.  And the very next pitch was served for a single to plate 2 runs, and an eventual 6-4 victory for the Beavs.  Shaking my fucking head.  BUT – still can win game 3, win the series, and overtake 3rd place in the PAC12 standings:

GAME 3:

But that didn’t happen.  They battled until the last inning and only lost by 1, but it was a defeating loss for the Sun Devils 4-3 in the rubber match.  They NEEDED to win this series to have a shot at winning the PAC12 regular season title, but it’s looking like they’re going to have to gear up for a conference tournament run instead.

***Hunter Bishop Update***

He’s slowed down a bit, and only went 3-12 in the OSU series, but he’s still having one of the best seasons in America.  He’s slashing .391/.518/.902/1.420 with 17 dingers and 30 walks to only 29 strike outs in 170 plate appearances.  His 17 bombs are good for 2nd in all of D1 baseball to some pud from Tulane and his .391 BA is top 20 in the country.  He’s not the clear runaway favorite to take home the Golden Spikes award this year, but he’s still completely in the running.  Kid’s a stud and has flown up draft boards.  He’s now solidly in the Top 10 and is even being mocked as high as the White Sox at 3:

Who’s Next??

Some shit non-con game against the University of Seattle followed by PAC12 sets against Utah, Washington and #1 ranked UCLA.  Going to be a really fun stretch to end the season.
