This Is The Lowest National Title Over/Under In 20 Years But Rick Pitino LOVES The Over
[ESPN] – Sportsbooks aren’t expecting Monday night’s NCAA tournament title game between Texas Tech and Virginia to be a high-scoring affair. In fact, they’ve posted the lowest over/under total in an NCAA title game in the past 20 years.
Minutes after Texas Tech beat Michigan State 61-51 in Saturday night’s second semifinal, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened Virginia as a 1-point favorite in the title game with a total of 120.
The previous low for a title game total in the past 20 seasons was Florida-UCLA in 2006 (128), followed by Duke-Butler in 2010 (128.5).
Look at Rick here. What the hell does he know? Because now I’m all in on the over. Save me the talk about slow pace and limited possessions. Ricky P loves the over, we love the over. Rules are rules.
I mean he is right. I am curious to see what offense Virginia runs tonight. Tony Bennett has always run the mover/blocker offense, created by his dad. This year they run a bunch of ball screens and get in the offense that way. So there is some offensive scheming going on here.
As for Texas Tech we saw Matt Mooney shoot the hell out of the ball. Jarrett Culver can attack. All I know is we are all in on the over thanks to Rick.
