Capital One Arena Will Have A Sportsbook Directly Connected To It
Ted is NOT fucking around when it comes to sports betting. Genius move right here. He’s building a sports book directly connected to the arena that he owns, where the teams that he owns play. He’s going to run Washington DC like it’s Pottersville from It’s A Wonderful Life. It’s so, so smart.
And look, I love me some Greene Turtle. Pitchers of beer and crab dip, it’s just a wonderful chain sports bar. But it also has the most prime real estate right there in the middle of DC, with doors that lead directly into Capital One Arena. It’s going to be a mad house once sports betting is fully legalized in the District, which could be coming sooner than later. DC has officially voted to legalize it, now they are doing the legal mumbo jumbo and it could be rolling out as early as this Fall. And Ted knows exactly where the money is at, and he is planning well ahead to make sure he capitalizes on it for football season.
So the time is near where you’ll be able to pull up an app on your phone from inside the arena, live bet on the Caps, and then walk over to the book to collect cash when they win. The times they certainly are a changin.
