Travis Konecny Is An Elite Level Shit Stirrer
People who are much smarter than I am having been arguing over the “nature vs nurture” debate for as long as time. So when it comes to Travis Konecny, I’m still not sure if he’s a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Flyers because he was just born that way, or whether he’s a perfect fit for the Philadelphia Flyers because this team made him that way. I’d imagine that a little bit of both went into it. But either way, TK is the exact type of player this organization needs for the next generation of Flyers hockey. He’s got the top end talent…
He plays the game with an edge…
And he’s an elite level shit stirrer. Now we’ve known that TK is able to stir the pot for a while now. He’s a little pain in the ass out there and always seems to be agitating the shit out of everybody he plays against. But we got a nice dose of confirmation for that with his mic’d up performance from the Stadium Series game against the Pens the other week.
“Atta boy, Horny. Serve that one, bud. Ya useless fuck”
“Hey take those ear cuffs off, ya fuckin’ nerd. Ya nerd”
Just a masterful performance from the little pitbull out there. And that last chirp to Malkin about the ear cuffs is as elite as they come. I know that Malkin is the most Russian Russian in the NHL. Guy has been in the league for over a decade now and he still barely speaks any english. So I’m sure he wasn’t necessarily listening to Konecny out there chirping him about the ear cuffs. But a great chirp is a great chirp nevertheless. And the entire Pittsburgh Penguins organization deserve to get chirped for this one. I mean I honestly can’t think of a bigger group of virgins than the Pens. You’ve got Crosby and Malkin still both rocking the ear cuffs like they’re a couple of 7-year-olds out there getting on the ice to play during the intermission.
Then you’ve got Guentzal who, even without the ear cuffs, looks like he should still be playing peewees.
They’re all a bunch of nerds. And what do we do to nerds? We bully the shit out of ‘em. Which is exactly what Travis Konecny was doing all night and it’s exactly what he’s been doing his whole career here in Philly so far. Kid’s a legend.
