Movie Trailer Roundup
1. The Man WHo Killed Don Quixote
I can’t tell if this is going to be endlessly shitty or fun, but either way it has a great combo in Adam Driver (Star Wars) and Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones). Terry Gilliam (Monty Python) wrote and directed as well which is a great sign.
2. Detective Pikachu (Trailer #2)
Not much has changed for me opinion wise, but I think I’m still looking forward to it way more since originally hearing the announcement. It stars Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Ken Watanabe (Let them fight), Rita Ora (Music) and Suki Waterhouse (Insurgent). It’s directed by Rob Letterman (Monsters vs. Aliens) and written by committee.
3. Stockholm
I had no clue what the term ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ came from, so I’m into the novelty of a fictionalized version of the real origin of the phrase. It stars Ethan Hawke (Training Day), Noomi Rapace (Close) and Mark Strong (Sunshine). Robert Budreau (Born to be Blue) wrote and directed.
4. Dark Phoenix (Trailer #2)
Tfw you really want out of a franchise
5. Hellboy (Trailer #2)
Again, not much different in this trailer other than expanded visuals. I didn’t hate the original ‘Hellboy’ and actually quite liked ‘Hellboy: The Golden Army’. So as much as I’d like to see Pearlman reprise the role, I don’t hate David Harbour (Stranger Things) as a replacement. This looks perfectly campy and I’m sorta looking forward to it now. It also stars Mila Jovich (The Fifth Element), Ian McShane (Hot Rod) and Thomas Haden Church (Spiderman 3). Neil Marshall (The Decent) is behind the wheel on an Andrew Cosby (2 Guns) script.
