Trevor Bauer Mic'd Up During His Start Is Fucking Awesome And Now I Need It For All Pitchers

I’m such a baseball nerd, but hearing a pitcher’s thoughts throughout his whole start is the coolest fucking thing ever. It’s basically like watching ‘For The Love of the Game’ only instead of Costner, we have Trevor Bauer in real life. You either love Bauer or you hate him, and I’m a big fan of how weird he is with everything he does. I really don’t think any of that was for the mic or the cameras. That’s just Bauer being Bauer.

I’ve always wondered what MLB pitchers say to themselves on the mound. Bauer seeing how fast he’s throwing and not being satisfied so he just throws as hard as physically possible is incredible. Then of course he’s arguing with the ump to himself. That’s probably the thing I’d want to hear the most from every pitcher. Pitchers shit talking umpires under their breath is must watch/listen.

So who else would you want to hear mic’d up during a start? I think a lot of people will say Scherzer, and rightfully so since he’s a psychopath who screams to himself out there. Bumgarner 100%. For some reason I think Grant Balfour would have been perfect for this, being a crazy Australian guy. Dallas Braden would have probably been great in the six weeks he was in the majors. If you say the Rocket I hope you get hit by lightning during the next thunderstorm.

My answer is easy: CC Sabathia. The shit-talking and pure comedy from that man out on the mound is some pay-per-view content. He’d either been cursing off himself or the umpire after every pitch.

Give me more of this MLB. This is how you grow a sport and make it fun.

P.S. Bauer telling Cookie Carrasco that he finally mastered his pitch terrifies me. I don’t need Trevor Bauer with a brand new pitch. He has enough.
