Here’s another round up of Patriots Super Bowl LIII to take you into the weekend. I apologize if I’ve missed any especially good ones. But I’m not ruling out getting some more up here before the kickoff. So by all means keep them coming. As always, I like to give priority to the TV/movie mashup ones whenever possible. It’s just one man’s personal preference.
Interstellar, “Do Not Go Gentle”
I’d completely forgotten the Dylan Thomas poem is in the film. Michael Caine does the mest recitation of it since Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School.
Jordan Peele’s Us
Until watching this I never realized how much Brady in the post-Super Bowl Tom vs. Time looked into the camera with the same facial expression as hypnotized Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out.
Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here
Before his career is over, Julian Edelman is going to be responsible for more iconic one-liners than any athlete of all time. It’s like if Ali, Berra and Parcells had a baby together.
New Patriots highlights. Past Patriots highlights. Old vintage Boston sports moments. All brought together brilliantly. I did not see a JFK speech coming. But it totally works in this context and gives you chills.
Where We Dwell
The origin of this is actually Arian Foster. But to the victors go the spoils.
Tom Brady vs. “The Cliff”
Possibly the best use of anti-Brady negativity. And that is saying something.
Yes, it’s been posted here a bunch of times already. But just because Eagles fans like Jordie can’t stand it, it’s worth one more look. The Philly Special was an illegal formation. Never forget that.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to drink until I wake up and it’s Sunday afternoon already.
