Ricky Gervais' New Show Sounds...Aggressively Wonderful

I mean, Jesus. That’s one way of promo’ing a show. Just directly and firmly to the point, no beating around the bush on this one. Ricky Gervais makes absolutely no bones about what his new show is about. You will not be able to start watching his new show like “I guess we’ll just see what it’s about and decide if I like it or not after a couple of episodes”.

My hope for this show is it’s not overly Ricky Gervais. If you’ve spent more than 2 days following Gervais on Twitter you know what I mean by that. Ricky is great in small doses. But man, he really loves talking about how he’s an atheist and how he hates PC culture, ad nauseam. It never ends on his Twitter to the point it’s like “ok dude we get it, chilllllll”. Ricky is objectively funny, but he’s also very, very self-serving at this point that it worries me this show will be more of him projecting on us than a well written comedy show. I love the premise though, and we know Ricky isn’t worried about hurting feelings or “going there”

And hey, even if the show stinks, the good news is an American can just turn around and make a better version of it, heyooooooooo.
