Texas Basketball Star Andrew Jones Talking About How To Beat Cancer Will Tug On Your Heartstrings
This was by far the best thing I saw last night and in quite some time. Andrew Jones has been open about his battle against leukemia, which started last year. The Texas star sat down with Holly Rowe (who beat cancer as well) to talk about what it takes in order to beat the disease.
Listening to a kid, something I think we often forget when it comes to college players, talk like that and be positive all of a sudden filled my room with cut onions. No idea how that happened.
Jones talked about speaking everything into existence and his goal is to be a professional player. He hopes to be a major part of Texas’ rotation next year. His goal is to play in the NBA and honestly I see it happening. I mean if the dude can beat cancer with ease then I’m not going to bet against him making the pros.
Jones played just 10 games for Texas last year before being diagnosed with the disease. During that time he scored over 13 points per game and looked to be the 1-2 threat Texas needed with him and Mo Bamba.
As always – fuck cancer.
