You Should Be Arrested If You Don't Vote Mariano Rivera Into The Hall Of Fame Today

Baltimore Orioles v New York Yankees

Tonight at 6:00 on MLB Network we will find out who is getting inducted into Cooperstown. As of right now it looks like the locks are Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, and Edgar Martinez. Yankee great Mike Mussina could also sneak his way in, but I have a feeling he’s going to fall just short. Bonds, Clemens, and Schilling will likely not get in, but have momentum for next year.

The biggest story of today in the baseball world is whether or not Mariano Rivera will become the first player to get unanimously voted in. It’s never happened, mostly because some writers believe no one should be unanimous. They think because the older players like Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, or the more recent Ken Griffey Jr. weren’t unanimous that no one should be. I hate these people. They’re worse than some terrorists. They think they’re so high and mighty and that they can use this platform to gain notoriety as the person who stopped said player from getting that honor. I fucking despise their existence on this planet.

If you have a Baseball Hall of Fame vote, you should not worry about anything or anyone else and just do your job of voting in who you think should be in the hall of fame. It’s as simple as that. You shouldn’t be making any kind of statement or trying to stand out. It’s not your job to do that, asshole. Mariano Rivera is the greatest closer the game will ever see. The stats I can spew out to you from his career are simply mind bottling. They don’t make sense how good they are. My favorite one is that more men have walked on the moon than have scored against Mo in the postseason. I mean, what does that even mean? How is that real life? The short porch in right field has always been a home run haven in Yankee Stadium. With that logic lefties should have had success against Rivera with some dumb luck here and there. In his postseason career he never gave up a home run at home to a lefty. Insane. Mo was the best and is a sure firer hall of famer. There is no logic you can bring to the table to tell me he is undeserving of a vote without me laughing in your face.

If Mo doesn’t become unanimous later today, and odds are he won’t because the world sucks, that person(s) should be stripped of their vote forever. They shouldn’t be allowed to write about this sport ever again. I never want to hear a baseball take from that person ever again. You can’t even say the word baseball. Their kids aren’t allowed to play baseball anymore. That person should also be forced to spend a week in prison.

Forgetting what he did on the field, no one was more liked than Mo off of it. Even Red Sox fans can’t say a bad word about him. Sweeney Murti covers the Yankees for WFAN and shared this video today. On the day Mariano became the game’s all-time saves leader he stopped his press conference to congratulate Sweeney on the birth of his daughter.

Do the right thing and make him the first unanimous Hall of Famer in baseball history.
