John Wall is Shooting For The Moon This Season, Writing "Playoffs" On His Shoes
Bog – Two Septembers ago, Andray Blatche passed out Play Off Starts Here T-shirts to his teammates in September. That didn’t end well. John Wall’s playoffs-inscribed gear will be more individualized, and less team-oriented. And will also have less awkward phrasing. Via Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck: When the Washington Wizards open the season Oct. 30 in Detroit, Wall will take the court with the word “playoffs” scribbled on his shoes. He will repeat the exercise every day, through 82 games, lest he or anyone else lose sight of the goal. “You will see it on all my shoes,” Wall said last week. “Every game pair is going to have ‘playoffs’ on it. That’s my main determination.”

That’s pretty much where we’e at in this town, where we are aiming for just the playoffs. Oh boy, a first round sweep, but at least we made the playoffs! I hate it. Cities like Boston demand championships. Yankees fans are disappointed when they make the world series and don’t win it. But our star players are cool with simply making the playoffs. Are we at the point where we have started applauding first-round exits from postseason? I don’t think so. But when you’re so used to losing, I guess it’s kinda of crazy to aim higher.
