News, notes, and quotes:
- David Krejci came up in the clutch late in the 3rd on the PP to send the game to overtime. His 10th of the season.
- Tuukka Rask made 19 saves but coughed up a loose puck for Jeff Petry to bat home and win it for the Habs. Not blaming this loss on him at all, just a not-so-great rebound to give up 15 seconds into OT. He is still searching for his next win, which will tie Tiny Thompson’s franchise record.
- The 2nd line was a revolving door with Bruce Cassidy switching up the line. We saw him roll out DeBrusk-Krejci-Donato and Heinen-JFK-Backes. David Backes was a non-factor.
- Don Sweeney, I’m begging you to pull the trigger and get this team some help on the 2nd line. We need secondary scoring so bad it hurts.
- 40+ shots in two of their last three games, but the B’s have found the back of the net just twice (apiece) in those games. Unacceptable.
- The Bruins lead the league in allowing shorthanded goals. Ten. TEN. Fucking embarrassing.
- Carey Price looked like All-Star Carey Price tonight, making 41 saves.
- David Pastrnak put up an assist in his 300th career NHL game.
- 2 straight home losses. Montreal is on our toes, just two points behind us. B’s are just one point behind the Leafs (who lost to the Avalanche tonight) for 2nd in the Atlantic. Two beat-able teams coming up this week, starts with the Flyers on Wednesday and the Blues on Thursday. Let’s go.
B’s are back in action on Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers. Let’s go get back in the win column.
