Wake Up With The Best Player In Blackhawks History
I’m there. I’m ready to declare Patrick Kane as the greatest player in franchise history. The man is a savant, a genius, and the best player this city has ever seen. The body of work is there and the most amazing thing to me is that he’s surrounded by probably the weakest talent of his career and at 30 years-old he’s having the best season of his career. He won’t get the Hart Trophy this year because the team is at the bottom of the standings, but he’s an MVP every single night. He’s having the best season of his career while playing on a team that is probably the least talented he’s ever had.
Kane has been spectacular since day one as an 18 year-old. I don’t have to give you the resume. The guy puts up points no matter who he plays with. He truly makes everyone around him better and when the Hawks need a play to get in the game or save the game, 88 is the man they turn to. It’s been amazing to watch him over the past few weeks. You want to know why the Hawks have been playing so much better lately? It’s because Kane is doing unreal shit on the ice.
The subtle little change of direction, sight lines, and body positioning that open up passing lanes for a split second or just an extra inch of room are plays very few guys can make. There’s never been anyone exactly like him. He’s sensational. He’s the best Chicago has ever had and has all the hardware to prove it. What he’s done lately is flying under the radar because of the Hawks’ position in the standings. 21 points in his last 12 games. TWENTY-ONE! He’s now 4th all-time in assists and there’s no signs of him slowing down. We are blessed. Hopefully somehow some way his soulmate comes back. Losing Panarin probably cost Patrick Kane in the neighborhood of 300 career points. Even with that he’s been able to keep his statue-worthy career on track. He’s better now at age 30 that he’s ever been and we are blessed to be able to watch him play every night.
