Does Nick Foles Become The Greatest Quarterback From Westlake HS If He Beats Drew Brees On Sunday?
Nick Foles and Drew Brees have a lot in common. They both wear number 9. They both have massive hogs. They’ve both thrown 7 touchdown passes in a single game. They are both Super Bowl MVPs. They both got some very good pictures with their babies after aforementioned Super Bowl victories.
And on top of it all, they both went to Westlake High School in Austin.
Now anybody who knows anything knows that high school sports are the most important thing in life. If you didn’t peak in high school, then you’re a nobody. Sure you can go on to achieve great success in the NFL but does any of that even matter if you’re not the best and coolest dude to ever come out of your high school? Heck no.
So I just think there’s a lot more on the line here on Sunday than a lot of people realize. This game isn’t just to determine whose season remains alive in hopes of winning Super Bowl LIII. This matchup has high school supremacy on the line, and that means everything. Granted, Brees already has a playoff win over Foles in their career but that was before Nicky Nine Inch had himself a Super Bowl. Now this is the first time two Super Bowl MVPs from the same high school are squaring off in the playoffs. I know that Brees has the passing yards and completions record. I know that he’s less than 20 away from the record for passing touchdowns. But again, it all means nothing if he’s not the greatest quarterback to ever come out of his own high school. And Nick Foles has a chance to take that away from him on Sunday.
