Ohio State Quarterback Dwayne Haskins to Enter the 2019 NFL Draft

And the sky is still blue and the grass is still green. Everyone knew this was coming. When Justin Fields announced his transfer to Ohio State, anyone with a brain could read between the lines to find out that Dwayne Haskins was leaving. The two worked out together over the summer with the same QB coach. There’s no way that they didn’t at least talk before Fields’ move, seeing as there was no chance that he would transfer from being the #2 quarterback in beautiful Athens, Georgia to potentially be the #3 quarterback in Columbus, Ohio. So I can’t say I’m even the least bit surprised, but to say it doesn’t still sting just a little bit would be a lie. Haskins was an absolute treat to watch in an Ohio State uniform, and he had the choice between coming back to win a Heisman and a National Championship or $30 million dollars. Looks like he wanted the money.

And who can blame him? I can’t relate to being 6’3″ or having a cannon for an arm, but I can relate to being a college student. And while I liked the freedom, parties, and hot chicks (so many hot chicks), you still have to go to class. Especially at Ohio State. And for that reason alone, I would leave for the NFL the first second I could. Especially if Ohio State was selling #7 jerseys in the team shop every Saturday, but I wasn’t getting a piece of the pie. So good for you Dwayne. As Teddy KGB says in Rounders, pay that man his money.

And this isn’t going to be a small chunk of change either. Haskins is looking at tens of millions, seeing as he’s the consensus #1 quarterback coming off the board in 2019 Mock Drafts.

Ooooh, the Giants? I think I know a couple people at this company, as well as two players named Saquan and Odell that would be very happy to see Dwayne suit up in blue.

That would be an explosive offense! Do the Giants have the balls to move away from Eli though? Or are they going to have him mentor Dwayne? I guess that’s the question that will have to be answered in New York. There are questions to be answered in Columbus, too. Who’s next man up???

With the Justin Fields transfer status and playing status in limbo over the past couple of weeks, Tate Martell has been very clear that he expects to be the starter for the Buckeyes next year regardless of whoever transfers in and whoever gets granted a waiver to play immediately.

Well, Justin Fields is officially here. And I’d have to imagine the NCAA doesn’t want any part of the argument to keep him off the field. Remember, he’s the black QB that the Georgia baseball player used racially charged language towards this season, leading the baseball player to be kicked off the team. Sounds like a good reason to leave Georgia. I expect the NCAA to agree. So it sounds like we’re going to have ourselves a good old fashioned QB competition in Columbus. I’m not sure who I’m taking yet. But I sure know whose sister I’m taking.

Mr. Fields, do you have any of age family members you would like to enter into this competition?
