We Did It! The Philadelphia Phillies Are Officially The Worst Team In The National League

phills

PHILLY – The Phils have lost eight of their last nine games. They finished a weeklong road trip through Washington and Cincinnati at 1-5. The trip began with Sandberg calling a closed-door meeting in an effort to wake his slumbering veteran team and ended with the Phillies’ four games worse in the standings. But dating back to May 5, the first of four straight losses to the Toronto Blue Jays, both in Philly and north of the border, the Phillies have lost 22 of their last 32 games.

YES! Who would’ve thought at the beginning of this season this team filled of over the hill veterans and young, hopeless talent could underachieve so much? Personally I thought they would struggle around .500 for most of the season before shitting the bed when it mattered most, but it’s good to see they believe in themselves more than that.

FIRE EVERYONE. Houston, I repeat, THE HOUSTON ASTROS have a better record than the Phillies. This team isn’t just bad, they’re unwatchable. I turned on the game Saturday for 5 minutes in a tie ballgame. With a runner on first, Roberto Hernandez was in the stretch. The runner takes off………then he delivers the pitch. I’ve NEVER seen a runner have almost a full second jump on a pitcher, but that’s where this team is at right now. They’re not only God awful, they can’t even play fundamental ball. They have a run differential of -50 which is second worst by only a run to Arizona and Tampa Bay (-51). Oh, and you see that 1.9 all the way to the right of the standings? That’s the percentage the Phils have on making the postseason. Nice to see they’re not even going to be playing meaningful baseball by the All-Star break. They’re currently 250/1 to win the World Series if you want to place a bet. Or you can light your money on fire and punch yourself in the dick. Basically the same thing.

If it wasn’t official yet somebody better better stick a fork in this franchise soon. Time to lay this team to rest and start rebuilding so we might have a chance to contend again in 7 years. RIP Philadelphia baseball.
