A Girl Went Mega Viral On Twitter For Just Listing All The Things On Netflix. I Hate Her

Here at Barstool, we dabble a lot in the viral Twitter world. Ellie is a seasoned vet at going viral, KB is basically the king of going viral by hating viral tweets, and Francis is on a consistent journey to go viral.

I’m not as invested in the viral Twitter world as they are, but once in awhile something will go viral and absolutely baffle me.

Enter Morgan a.k.a. @umm_idkk_ (super creative handle)

She has, at the time of this blog, nearly 100K retweets and over 270K likes for basically just tweeting out a catalog of things on Netflix in a grid format on her notes app.

These are the following shows and series that she recommended people check out.

She rattled off SIXTY-FOUR recommendations. But don’t worry, if those 64 options weren’t enough, she followed up with more.

22 more options bringing us to a grand total of 86. Imagine asking someone in person for a Netflix recommendation and them rattling off 86 god damn shows and movies?!

The quote retweets calling this a girl a savior who is “clutch af” made my blood boil.

Yes Jaaz, that’s exactly what the world is lacking – people just tweeting out a catalog of all the popular things on Netflix and then some.

First of all, who died and made this girl an expert critic on all things movies and television? Some people got on her case for listing off bad shows/movies, to which she responded….

Hey newsflash dummy, that’s exactly what a suggestion is. When you ask someone for a suggestion, you’re expecting them to give you something they like. You ever hear a waiter say “May I suggest the chicken picatta. It’s fucking disgusting!” Or your friend saying, “Yo you HAVE TO listen to this new ___ album. I hated it!” Or a doctor saying “You have lung cancer. My suggestion is that going forward you smoke a pack of cigarettes per day.”

On top of Morgan not grasping the definition of a suggestion, I would like to take a closer look at some of the shows and movies she suggested.

The Office: One of the most popular TV comedies of all time. Nominated for 42 Emmys. Cultural phenomenon. You can’t go a day without seeing an Office meme on Twitter. If all that wasn’t enough to persuade you into watching The Office, TV expert Morgan with 1,027 followers is here to give her official seal of approval

Bird Box: Probably the most viral thing on the Internet right now.

The Sixth Sense: Movie’s been around for 20 god damn years. Pulled in a cool $700 million at the box office. Nominated for six Academy Awards. Features one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars. Even if you haven’t seen it, you probably know how it ends. But this one tweet from Morgan is finally going to get you to pull the trigger and watch it.

Black Panther: Made $1.3 billion dollars. Part of the biggest cinematic universe of all time. Well in case Marvel movies have somehow slipped under you radar, Morgan is here for you.

Other notables: Grey’s Anatomy, Stranger Things, Black Mirror

The point is – none of those needed to be suggested. It’s like walking into Peter Luger’s steakhouse and the waiter telling you, “Man you gotta try the steak.”

I was just unbelievably infuriated by the idea of this girl going ultra viral  by basically listing the catalog of “Trending Now” on Netflix.

I tried to go viral by suggesting songs on Spotify and just basically listing out the US Top 50. I even used the grid format on Notes that seemed to mystify some people.

It did not work. Life’s just not fair sometimes.

Now you might be thinking “Don’t hate this girl Tommy. She means well. It was an innocent tweet.”

I don’t care. When there’s hate in your heart, let it out. That’s my New Year’s resolution.

End of blog.
